Today I completed day 4 of week 8 of the 1st Class Program in the book, Your Body is Your Gym by Mark Lauren. I’ve linked to the book several times already on this site, so I won’t do so again today.
Day 4, week 8 is an interval sets workout emphasizing core strength.
Workout Summary
Today’s workout consisted of four exercises:
- Leg lifts: laying face-up on the floor, arms crossed across chest.
- Supermans: a form of back extensions where you lay face-down on the ground with your arms straight out in front of you and then raise your arms and legs as much as possible while keeping them as straight as possible. Imagine holding a pose not unlike Superman in flight while laying on your stomach on the floor.
- Bicycles: laying on the floor, face up, hands clasped behind head, hold feet off the ground with legs straight, bend left knee until you can touch right elbow to left knee, while straightening left knee bend right knee until it can touch left elbow, repeat.
- Back extensions with hands under chin: same as Supermans but this time with your elbows straight out and your hands under your chin.
I completed 3 sets of each exercise with a short break between each set. Finished the whole thing up in about 25 minutes, took a quick walk with the dogs, ate lunch, and got back to work.
