The Best Newsletter in the World

Strong words and not a joke.

James Clear’s 3-2-1 Thursday newsletter is the best newsletter I’ve ever read. Paul Jarvis defunct Sunday Dispatches was a close second, but it came to an end back towards the end of 2020.

Seriously, Jon? You’re hawking some else’s newsletter?

You, probably

I know. It’s crazy, right? I don’t get many newsletters, I’m a zealous unsubscriber, and I read even fewer. This newsletter is that good. James’ book is also great.

Here are some words of wisdom from the last newsletter:

Good advice at the wrong time is bad advice.

Life is full of seasons and each season has different requirements.

Know what season you are in, and you can better identify which ideas to utilize.

3-2-1 Thursday by James Clear, January 2, 2022

This is what I was trying to get at a few days ago when I talked about the changing of the seasons. There’s a cadence to life and each thing has its own time. The “always on,” “take no prisoners,” “no cheat days,” “always hustle,” approach to life just doesn’t work for most of us for very long. Instead, working with the hand we’ve been dealt at any given point in time will produce better results and lead to long term success and happiness.

James just says things better than I do, probably because he’s made a habit (pun intended) of saying a lot of things, in a very intentional manner, for a long time.
